Gig review

Eliza Gilkyson with Robert McEntee (3 October 2008) (Click here for Eliza Gilkyson's website)

Two old faves returning for another two faultless performances, Eliza and Robert at Chequer Mead.

These two down to earth human beings seem to have a special affinity with East Grinstead and always stoke the fires up to melting point, but tonight… they started and I was blown away like a feather in a whirlwind. I was transported by Eliza's laid back drawl and the myriad of some of the finest licks I have ever heard anywhere; coming from the PA via Robert's beautiful purple Strat, I was feeling like a base jumper flying off Angel Falls.

Eliza was equally transported and the moody soulful guitar elevated her performance exponentially. A brilliant rapport with artists and audience alike, both expressed their appreciation at being back.

My reverie continued through song after song until Martin stepped up to conclude the evening's pleasure. A Real Cool Hang! Don't miss the next one!
